How to Post Large Photos in Blogger Blogspots

>> Browse templatesMoney tips22 comments

Using the standard "Add Image" button in Blogger's text editor, you can only post photos or images with limited size, even if you choose the "Large Image" option.

Check out this test blog to see how the image fills up the entire post area. If you use the Blogger's Add Image button, the largest image you can post will be much smaller than this.

Follow these instructions to post large photos or images in your blog:

  • Store your photos in an online image hosting service. I would suggest the free Photobucket powered by Google.
  • Copy the direct link to the photo you want to post. In Photobucket, the direct link to your photo is located in the "Direct Link - Layout Pages" tab below your photo.
  • In your Blogger Create Post panel, click the Edit HTML in the text editor.
  • To post the photo or image, type the code below in the Blogger text Editor:
     <img src="http://PhotoURL" width="100px" height="100px" />
  • Change PhotoURL to the actual URL (the direct link) of the photo you want to post.
  • Set the width and height of your photos appropriately. If you want it to be the actual size, simply delete the red part. If you just want to set the width and let the height changes accordingly to scale, simply set the width only, not the height.

I love your templates but I wanted to know how do you move the older post link to the left? I was thinking of using one of your templates to host a comic on blogspot.

My picture is getting cut in half. What am I doing wrong?

KC, make sure you specify the width in this - img src="http://PhotoURL" width="100px" height="100px". Your image is bigger than the post width. Look in the template file in main-wrapper or main tag to check its width.

Biggest problem is YOU NEED CROP to a vertical!!!!! Backdrop is too small and there is not enough of a sweep so you can see the crease. If you send me a file I can fix it in Photoshop and I can give you my suggested crop. If you don't care aboout your PROFESSIONALISM you are never going to get work as a pro believe me!!! Hope I am not being too harsh.

Thanks for the template sharing.
Rather than using this...
"img src="http://PhotoURL" width="100px" height="100px" /"

I used this...
"img src="http://PhotoURL" width="100%" height="100%" /"

This works prefect for me. My large photo wont cut/display half on the page.

enakan pake fasilitas standarnya blogspot aja, penyimpanannya ke picasa, free and great space.
kalo masalah ukuran gambar yang ditampilkan kan bisa kita atur lagi, tinggal kita tekan html (pas lagi posting) trus kita rubah ukuran width dan height nya jadi 100px semua atau berapa aja.

I was finally able to post the larger photos. I am using photoblog III. And I have the width set at 680px, the size came out right but now my picture is all fuzzy! Any ideas on how to solve it?
Here's my blog if anybody wants to take a look and give me some much needed advice!

I am having trouble with the larger picture size on my blog. There are some people who can view it just fine and others who are telling me that the pictures are not showing up. What solution should I offer to those people?? Is it their browser??

I have managed to get the image larger but I still want people to be able to click on it and have it open larger still in a new window. It does automatically with images I download at their normal size - is it possible doing it with these larger images?

Hi. From the demo, the template really looks good but i have failed to download. AM using Ubuntu.

When i click on "download" it opens but the page turns out to be almost blunk.Does your template work with Linux?

HI ....

My images are also cutting in half .. my 800px header image is fine and goes to full width and height .. no probs

My guess is that the template won't accept the 800px images in a post. I've followed your guidlines, opened a Photobucket account and linked properly .. using the absolute size of the image and the 100% option mentioned by a poster.

From other posts I have read, it seems as though the centre 'wrapper' ? may not be wide enough, but that I may be able to edit this so the three column template can take 800 px images .. ?

I was put onto this template by another photographer, whose website is here:

http://www.nikolebordatophotography.blogspot.com/

some of her images are 1023 px width and 800 px width .. what do I change, or what am I doing wrong here .. ?

what is meant by change the photo url to the actual url? My photos are not showing all that is displayed is the hyperlinks to the photos.

Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to change the "header" image with a flash (swf) file animation? I think it should be possible but just not quite sure where the piece of code is?
I'd really appreciate any help here and by the way, thanks a lot for the template since it is a really nice template. Here's my blog: http://sbfotografia.blogspot.com
Regards and thanks in advance.

I FOUND SOLUTION for EVERY ONE!!!
If you want to post LARGE picture in blogger (with this template as well) at first you should have good host. So, go to ImageShack http://imageshack.us/ website and browse your picture. Then you can resize your image and click HOST. On the page which will appear, you will see a few URL addresses html codes for your image (websites, forums...), to post it in your blog, click that one for websites, get your image html. Then go to your blog, create new post, choose html option and put JUST your picture html you can see on ImageShack there. Click to see how it looks like before you post it (and just to check if it is shown properly) And you don't have to even register to host your images!
Hopefully it's clear :)
Enjoy!
