The Pattern

The template image is captured from a 1024 pixels wide screen. This template has 3 'sidebar' columns below the post column. The theme is photoblog - the post column is wide without any other columns next to it. This style is especially great if you want to build a photo blog with lots of large photos and images. Click here to learn how to post large photos and images in your blog.

Header Image
The header image doesn't come with the template file. To put the header image in your blog, left-click on the image below and save the actual size into your computer. Then, upload the image into the Header Page Element in the Layout section of your blog.

Header image credit: adapted from DinPattern.

If you want to use your own image for the header, the image has to be 920 pixels wide (with any height) to fit the header nicely. Click here for more helpful links on template installation guides and instructions.

Ads
This template was customized so that you can put ads in a lot of places. In addition to the usual sidebar, header, and main columns, you can place long leaderboard-size ads above and below the blog and above the footer. Check out these ads locations in this test blog.

Terms of Use
The template is free but please value our hours of design work by leaving the footer credit to Ourblogtemplates.com intact.

why are my pictures running off the side of the page. http://paulastilerphotography.com
thanks!

Paula, your image is larger than the blog width. Set the image width using the "width" command to make it smaller. I'd suggest around 840px or below. You don't have to set the height. See the instructions on how to set post large images on my post above.

the pictures look great! now i am having a problem with the labels overlapping and covering up the ones above. any suggestions?

Zaff June 10, 2008 4:26 PM

paula,
The labels wasn't meant to be put there (below the header and above the post) as you're doing it now. It's meant to be put below all posts near the 3 columns section. Anyway, that's how I designed it. It's possible to redesign it to fit what you want to do, but that'll need some time to do it. I guess you can read my tutorials to figure it out if you want to.

I am using your templates on two blogs because I find them very user friendly and adaptable -txs. Would it be possible to make the post column a little smaller and put another column to the right of it? I desperately need another column to put widgets and adds in but hacking templates is beyond me. Thank you.

I have my own image to use as the header (instead of the default title & description). The only problem is, when I choose to use my image "instead of title & description", it seems to lose the header section completely. My image doesn't show up at all. The only way I can see my header image is to choose "behind title & description"... in which case I get my image PLUS the title.
Can you help?

I am using the Pattern template and really like it.

The only problem I have is that people are telling me they aren't able to leave comments anymore.

When they click to leave a comment after a post it takes you to the bottom of the page to where it says "Post A Comment" but if you click on that nothing happens. There wasn't any problem with leaving comments prior to uploading this template.

can someone please tell me how to fix the comment function? Nobody can post comments on my blog!

Jennifer May 04, 2009 11:38 AM

I see I'm not the only one with the comment issue. Have you figured out anything that fixes it?

Tara Mitchell May 19, 2009 7:49 PM

To fix the comment function, you go to the HTML page, back up your widgets, then click 'revert widget templates to default'.

Hope that helps you all :D
