I thought this template looked really nice, so I installed it in my blog:

I worked two days adjusting colours and adding stuff - in Firefox - and didn't look at it until now in Internet Explorer 6 - where it doesn't look good at all...
The right bar jumps down under the left one - and ends up below all the blog postings so no one finds it - and it leaves an odd empty space to the right.
Why?
And what can be done about it?
Can you give the users of this template some code that we can put into the uploaded template that would fix this - or---?
I chose the template not only because I liked the design but also because it said it had been tested OK in all browsers...
Charlotte, I checked again on ie6 using browsershots.org, and it still look ok. All the sidebars are in the right position. I don't have IE6 installed to checked everything properly, so I have to rely on what Browsershots.org gave me.
I'm not sure what happen in your case. In one case it might be that one of the widgets you put on the sidebars are bigger than what it should be. If this is the case, it'll push the sidebar to be bigger causing the right sidebar to drop below. I don't really know if this is the case, but I'm just guessing because I've seen it happen because of this.
Other than that, I'm not really sure.

I just hope the left bar doesn't jump to the right then... :-)
I've now tried to move all the widgets one by one, to the left and right, and also down to the footer, to see which one that causes this. It made no difference.
It still doesn't work in IE 6.
Have also changed the html code for sidebar 2 - where it said 20 px - to 15 px, since sidebar 1 has 15 px. Thought it would work if they were the same size. But no...
Why were they in different pixels?
Should I change back?
An interesting thing is that when I had taken away all the widgets from the left field, there was still an empty box there - in my case white, since I changed the sidebar background colour into white.
But when I took all the widgets away to the right - there were no such empty white box left.
I think the problem might eventually be here - that box might be deciding the size of the left bar before there aren't any widgets there. But how to get away that empty box? Or should there be such a box to the right too, that got lost somehow in my template?
If so - what little code part is missing?
Hope you get some ideas of how to solve this...!

After eventually solving the little left white box mystery...
Would the easiest way perhaps then be to change the size of the margins around the blog so they're a bit thinner, so there's more space within the blog where the widgets can spread?
I guess the maximum widget size could be changed too then?
I don't know which numbers in the html code to change to try this, and don't want to mess up the blog completely - so would be grateful if you could test it and say which numbers to glue in - and where.
It's still odd that it shows up so nicely in Firefox....

It took me two days to do that the first time - so if it's possible to just glue in some code - that would be much easier...
If you could send me the changes and tell me where they should be - I could try that first.
P.S.
I got some error message from blogger as well regarding something in the footer - had to delete the widget places there and put in new ones made by blogger to make it work.
It was something named "2" - forgot what - and I can't check since I deleted it already.
I had a look at your test blog in IE 6 - and it looked ok - but will it handle my widgets?
Look at the new template and copy everything in the wrapper '#content-wrapper', '#main-wrapper', and '#main'. That's where I made the changes. The widgets should be find because the fault is in the width for #content-wrapper.
I've tried that now - but it caused the same error to happen also in Firefox...
So I changed back again.
Wonder why it doesn't work....

Can you put the new template on a page somewhere?
I've tried to download it three times now - but blogger doesn't accept installing it - have no idea why - I get an error message each time.
I need to see the HTML code to try to solve it, since some who read my blog still use IE 6...
I've had people whom have had this same problem. I know one person who reduced the their number of posts showing and it solved the problem. Sounds weird...but it worked for her. (she reduced it to 5 posts showing) good luck! My experience is that blogger is a little glitchy and some blogs just all of a sudden start having problems. The blogger I'm talking about had her template up for 5 months and then all of a sudden one day it did what ya'll are talking about. It can be frustating! hope you figured it out.

Will try that, as I still have the same problem (only in IE 6 - but many still use that one, and thus don't see things they're supposed to see easily and first of all).
I would also like to get a copy of the new code as I can't download it and reinstall it (already tried and it didn't work) - so must try to change the code in the existing template.
Does anyone have it - if so, can you mail it to me (address can be found in my blog)?

Someone told me he had another problem with the template - that all the words in the postings floated together - without any spaces in between them
As that didn't happen to me, I don't know how to help him.
Maybe someone else here found a solution to that?
