I've been looking for a decent "generic" template to play with and learn more about designing and customizing Blogger templates.
It's so great that I don't have to re-invent the wheel.

Hi - Great tutorial, and I would very much like to download your template, but when I attempt to direct the download to my Zip folder IE8 butts in and tells me it is an unknown extension, or is corrupted, and to fix it before resuming!! I use Firefox and IE annoys me anyway. Is there an answer to this somewhere? If you have time to answer my inquiry I'd certainly appreciate it.GBW

I used this template (on my private blog) and only edited the colours, but my edit button doesn't appear.. the edit button is checked in the page elements > blog posts.
What should I do?
